A Rare Christmas Day

Merry Christmas!

We had snow in the Portland area today!!! For a couple of hours, at least, it was snowing heavily across the whole metro region. The Oregonian says that the last time there was measurable snowfall on Christmas Day in Portland was 1937. Wow!
They say it may snow a couple of inches overnight, but we'll just wait and see.

Another rare thing on Christmas for us was that we got to be with Lani's mom (& her brother Brian's and sister Shauna's families) and later the same day with my parents too. We had a nice time opening presents in the morning with our kids, had a nice Christmas feast (shared with the Maki & Wagner families) and played cards tonight with the three grandparents all here. It was a blessed day!

Last night I sang with "Men in Black" for Christmas Eve services at Abundant Life Church (www.coolchurch.com). It was lovely. . . some acappella singing, candlelight, harp, a nice message. We also did the same thing in four services on Sunday. It made for a busy last couple of days (what with my last-minute shopping & wrapping to do to), but it was nice to be included there. Maybe we'll get to do it again sometime.

Blessings on you all!

It sounds like you had a great Christmas. We went to CA for the day - flew over in the morning and back that evening. It was sunny and warm (in the low 70's) in Orange County. Right now it is 45 here in Tucson and is supposed to be 27 tonight. Brrrr

Wow, Dan! How cool to have snow on Christmas day. I am sorry that I have not been in touch with you guys yet- obviously we're not coming!!! We decided the weather looked a little too "if-fy". We took a short weekend trip to the mountains (past Banff) and came home a little while ago. We are definately planning on a trip to OR this summer and we will call you for sure!! We can't wait to see you guys! Love, Erin

It is amazing to me that it is now almost a month since we celebrated Christmas with you guys! How time flies! It was such a blessing form the Lord to be with you all. How is the family, (including Molly and Tucker)? Ember is getting the whole house breaking thing-sort of. She doesn't give us any audible sign that she wants out (if she is not in her kennel). We put a bell on the door-she doesn't get what it is for. She weighs 20lbs. and goes in for surgery next Tues. Talk to you soon.
